Alec’s vibrant spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless energy left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered, from family and friends to classmates and community members. His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him.
Born and raised in Utah, Alec was deeply rooted in his faith and community. A devoted Skaggs Catholic Center Lifer, he was proud of his connection to his Catholic education and carried the values of compassion, service, and kindness throughout his life. As a member of the Juan Diego Catholic High School Class of 2016, Alec’s presence was felt in every classroom, every gathering, and every activity he participated in. His friends and teachers alike remember him as someone who could lift the spirits of those around him with a simple smile, a kind word, or a joke at just the right moment.
Alec’s family remembers him as a devoted son to Jeff and Susan Meyer, who were central to his life and who nurtured his faith, curiosity, and enthusiasm. He shared a particularly close bond with his best friend, Brittany, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges. Those who knew Alec remember him as fiercely loyal, endlessly caring, and always ready to support the people he loved. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, and his joy was infectious.
Alec’s life, though tragically short, was marked by an incredible zest for living. He had a contagious smile and an energy that brightened every room he entered. Whether participating in school activities, volunteering in the community, or spending time with his friends and family, Alec brought laughter, light, and a sense of togetherness. His love for life was evident in every interaction, and his absence will be deeply felt across the Utah community and among the Skaggs Catholic Center alumni who remember his unwavering positivity.
To honor Alec’s life, a celebration will be held on Tuesday, August 26th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe at Juan Diego Catholic High School. Friends, family, and community members are invited to gather, share memories, and reflect on the joy he brought into their lives. The event will be an opportunity not only to mourn his passing but also to celebrate the light, faith, and love that Alec shared with the world.
In remembering Alec, the community celebrates a young man whose faith, compassion, and kindness defined his life. His time with us may have been far too brief, but the joy he brought, the friendships he nurtured, and the love he shared will endure.
